July 4th - First we had a natural light show with a double rainbow over the Yellowstone River. Then, as the sun set, fireworks over the Roosevelt Arch (the official northern entrance to Yellowstone.) Both these photos were taken from our back deck...
Painting Adventures - I'm out just about everyday plein air painting in the Park - lots of sights to photograph and paint out there....

No question, bison have to be part of the project... I thought I'd do a twist on the typical bison painting. I always enjoy watching them swim. The heaviest North American land animal and they can swim quite well!

Aspen Trees - side lit in the morning sun catch my eye every time. Again, I'm looking for an overall variety to the Yellowstone Squared project. So a tree portrait could be a good contrast to the vast landscapes...

Wildflowers - 'tis the season. Some of my favorites are blooming right now -
Prickly Pear cactus flowers...
Purple Fringe
and Paintbrush too...

And that will do it for now - Hope I didn't loose you. There's a lot to fit into a Yellowstone summer! And that wasn't even all of my back log - I'll get some more out soon.
